Preparation
📦 Check package contents: Your package should contain the items shown .
Please check the content .
🛠️ Preparation: Place the 3D printer on which you want to mount AutoClear on a stable table so that you can work comfortably and safely during installation.
⚠️ Caution! Be sure to unplug the printer from the power supply !
The power must not be switched on again until this is expressly mentioned in the instructions .
Apply adhesive tape
Attach the two 3M adhesive strips to the rail and press them firmly .
Attach the rail
⚠️ Attention! Align the rail correctly!
First do a position test – the red protective film remains on the adhesive tape .
Align the rail on the left side of the door edge , push it against the screw and ensure it is flush with the glass at the top .
Then remove the red protective film and mount the rail as shown in the video .
💡 Tip: Use the BambuLab bed scraper to more easily remove the red protective film from the 3M adhesive tape .
Attach main unit
⚠️ Caution! A main unit mounted at an angle or too low can lead to malfunctions!
Make sure you position it correctly and do a position test beforehand – the red protective film will remain on the adhesive tape !
Align the main unit with the printer's display . It should sit parallel to the printer . A small gap should remain visible above and below the main unit .
For X1C devices : Fold the display completely upwards and use the display bracket as an alignment guide . Make sure the main unit is fully aligned with the right edge of the display .
Once everything is correctly aligned, peel off the red protective film and attach the main unit to the printer as shown in the video .
Attach cable guide at the bottom
⚠️ Caution! The red protective film on the bottom unit's adhesive tape must not be removed yet !
Insert the bottom unit cable into the lower cable guide – the one labeled “CLEAR.”
Then attach the cable guide as shown in the video.
Make sure that the cable guide is at the very bottom .
Attach bottom unit
⚠️ Attention! Now remove the red protective film from the bottom unit 's adhesive tape.
Place the bottom unit in place and first push it all the way forward and to the right onto the cable guide .
Only when these points are correctly positioned , press the unit down completely to glue it in place.
Attach cable guide at the top
Push the cable into the upper cable guide .
Then attach the cable guide as shown in the video .
Ensure proper cable routing
Due to limited installation space, a 3D-printed guide cannot be used for the cable above the cable guide .
The cable should therefore be laid neatly and fixed with adhesive tape as shown in the photo .
Plug in the bottom unit cable
The cable of the bottom unit is laid in the designated gap of the top cover and then plugged into the right connection of the main unit labeled “BLOCK” .
💡 Note: With the P1S , the top cover can be omitted – in this case, the cable is routed through the opening at the top right .
However , it is recommended to use the top cover as it also allows for optimal routing of the power cable .
Lead the power cable through the top cover
First, pass the white plug of the power cable through the rear hole in the top cover , then through the front hole .
Then plug the connector into the left port on the main unit labeled “POWER” .
💡 Note: The cable should be laid as short as possible and without a large loop between the main unit and the top cover, otherwise it may be too tight in the rear area .
Laying power cables in top cover
Push the power cable into the cable slot of the top cover as shown in the video.
Plug the power cable into the printer
⚠️ Caution! For this step, the printer must be turned off —ideally completely unplugged from the power supply !
Unplug the original Bambu cable from the printer to the AMS Hub and plug in the AutoClear power cable instead as shown .
💡 Note: It is not relevant which of the two black plugs is plugged into which end.
Simply plug it in wherever makes the most sense for cable routing .
If no AMS is used , it is sufficient to plug one of the black connectors directly into the printer .
Correct cable routing
Finally , check that all cables are correctly routed .
The final result should correspond to the setup shown in the video .
Attach FrontCover-Fix
To do this , pull it over the print head from below and click it into the lowest ventilation holes .
💡 Note: On the X1C , first thread the part over the lidar sensor before snapping it into place.
Attach PlateClips
Attach the printing plate with the PlateClips to secure it for bending.
💡 Note: Make sure that the plate is aligned on the print bed so that the lip on the front right is above the bottom unit .
Attach a clip to the right side of the pressure plate .
To do this, insert the clip with the nose first into the groove at the bottom of the print bed and push it towards the grey block until it stops , as shown in the video.
Only then clip on the clip .
Attach PlateClips
Attach the second clip on the left .
To do this, insert the clip with the nose first into the groove at the bottom of the print bed and push it into the groove until it stops , as shown in the video.
Only then clip on the clip .
Correct positioning
Check the correct positioning – the lip points to the right , as shown in the picture.
The clips must also be positioned correctly : on the right directly on the grey block , on the left on the stop , about 0.5 cm further forward than on the right .
⚠️ Attention! In this configuration, the printer can print up to a maximum height of 215 mm .
It is recommended to work only with the AutoClear print profile .
For full print height : Remove clips and turn the plate over so that the lip points to the left .
This means that automation can be activated or deactivated in the truest sense of the word in no time at all – as needed.
Hook arm into rail
The belt of the AutoClear main unit is only slightly tensioned at the factory, so the arm can be moved with a little force - a clicking noise is normal .
Swing the arm forward so that it is at approximately a 90° angle to the printer .
Then lift the arm slightly and hook it into the rail .
Commissioning
Now supply the printer with power .
After a short moment the door should close automatically .
You will initially hear a clicking sound – the belt is too loose from the factory and is skipping .
Adjust belt tension: Open and close the door using the button on the right side of the housing .
Tighten the belt gradually using a 10 mm Torx key over the right screw on the main unit .
If you no longer hear a click , the tension is correct.
💡 Note: Check the belt tension regularly and readjust if necessary.
If you hear a click when closing or the door opens easily after closing , the belt is too loose - in this case, increase the tension slightly .
⚠️ Caution! Excessive belt tension should be avoided at all costs , as it can lead to unnecessary stress on the components and premature wear .
Replace door handle
🛠️ Recommendation:
It is recommended to remove the original BambuLab door handle and instead install the included cover using the original screws .
You will be surprised how used we have become to opening the door using the handle.
From now on , the door will be opened and closed automatically using the button on the right side of the main unit.
Final functional test
✅ Functional test (as shown in the video):
- Press the button on the main unit → door opens.
- Press the button on the bottom unit twice long (>1 second each), then once briefly → the fan switches on.
- Briefly press the button on the bottom unit twice → fan turns off, door closes.
🎉 Congratulations!
